Here is a list that can be very helpful, especially if you are new dog parent. Below details food that is toxic for dogs. ;

Onions, garlic and chives;  the onion family, whether dry,raw or cooked, are particularly toxic to dogs and can cause gastrointestinal irritation and red blood cell damage.

Chocolate; Chocolate contains a stimulant called theobromine and can cause kidney failiure.

Macadamia nuts ; These contain a toxin that can affect your dog's muscles and nervous system resulting in weakness, swollen limbs and panting.

Corn on the cob ; Corn on the cob could potentially be fatal if eaten by your dog. Although the corn is digested by dogs, the cob can cause a blockage in your dog's intestine.

Avocado ; Avocado plants contain a substance called Persin which is in it's leaves, fruit and seed and can cause vomiting and diarrhoea in dogs.

Xylitol ; If your dog eats any foods containing xylitol they can go into hypoglycaemia which is linked to liver failiure and blood clotting disorders.

Alcohol ; Alcohol has a huge impact on dogs even in small doses. Th drink not only causes intoxication, but causes sickness, diarrheoa and even central nervous damage.

Cooked bones ; Thses  can easily splinter and can cause constipation , or at worst, a perforation of the gut which can be fatal.

Grapes ; The active ingredient is unknown but they may cause severe liver damage and kidney failiure.

If your dog ingests any of the above do not hesitate and take your dog to the vets immediately.
