Spring gardening hazards for dogs
As the weather is changing and our thoughts are turning to outside we need to be aware that there are lots of hazards for our dogs outside.
The obvious ones are poisonous plants and bulbs, lawn feed and fertiliser. Slug pellets, weed killer and even compost bins can cause harm to dogs too.
Grass cuttings and grass seeds can cause digestive issues and can reduce appetite and cause vomiting.
Make sure your dog is kept away from these dangers and try to fence off where possible when you use them. Raised beds could be an idea too so you can still grow and enjoy your favourite plants without the worry of your dog eating what they shouldn't.
Dogs get into everything so it can be hard to keep them away from hazards. If you are in any doubt about what your dog has eaten contact your vet immediately.
